Can I Get An Hiv Test At Walgreens

Why Should You Choose Our Partner Over Walgreens Cvs

Ask a Pharmacist: Can I get vaccinated to prevent HIV?

Our at-home STD testing provider has several advantages and easily accessible to anyone in the country, which will get you rapid lab-certified results without leaving the comfort of your home, and if the test results are positive youll get a free doctor consultation for further treatment. MyLAB Box home STD test kits cost lower than the Walgreens/CVS providers. The test cost at Walgreens and CVS are set high at $100. Being pharmaceutical companies they do have answers to any health query still, they are not qualified doctors to provide exact prescriptions and best medications. Also, stepping into a Walgreens clinic, you should be prepared to answer questions about your sexual history and personal issues.

This provides a reasonable option to choose our partner, myLAB Box for those who want to save time, and get affordable STD testing.

Four big advantages of getting tested with our partner laboratory:

  • Affordable
  • Convenience
  • Accurate and reliable

You dont want to end up spending more than you can afford. Our STD testing provider offers valuable service in means of low cost, and nationwide home testing kit.

Where Can You Get Tested For Hiv

You can get an HIV test at many places:

  • Your health care providers office
  • Health clinics or community health centers
  • STD or sexual health clinics
  • Your local health department
  • Substance abuse prevention or treatment programs

Many pharmacies and some community-based organizations also offer HIV testing.

HIV testing is covered by health insurance without a co-pay, as required by the Affordable Care Act. If you do not have health insurance, some testing sites may offer free tests.

These places can connect you to HIV care and treatment if you test positive or can discuss the best HIV prevention options for you if you test negative.

You can also buy a home testing kit at a pharmacy or online.

The Virus That Came Before

Against the backdrop of a pandemic, Walgreens and Greater Than AIDS team up for the 10th year to continue the ongoing fight against a different virus

Ten years is a rather monumental anniversary. For married couples, a decade together might warrant a party, a nice dinner, or traditional gifts made of aluminum or tin to signify the unions ability to last through time. But for the partnership between Walgreens and Greater Than AIDS, there was only one way of celebrating the milestone: making their in-store, free HIV testing program the biggest it has ever been.

Tina Hoff, senior vice president of the Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation , the organization behind the public information initiative Greater Than AIDS, had been planning this years testing event for months. As in past years, the plan was to bring community-based organizations and local health agencies to Walgreens stores around the country in support of National HIV Testing Day on June 27, so that anyone who walked in the door could get a free, confidential HIV test, counseling and educational materials to help connect them to appropriate care. Over the last nine years, the Greater Than AIDS/Walgreens National HIV Community Partnership has provided more than 57,000 free HIV tests and reached even more with information.

The HIV virus attacks immune cells that help your body fight off infection. Over time this can weaken your immune system and make it harder to avoid illness. Why Testing Is Important

If you’re carrying the HIV virus, early treatment can keep you healthy longer. Treating HIV infection early may slow down damage to the immune system and may help prevent or delay some of the life-threatening infections people with AIDS can develop. By knowing your HIV status, you can also take steps to avoid spreading the virus to other people.

The HIV virus is transmitted from person to person through sexual contact and contact with blood from an infected person. It can also be passed to an unborn baby through pregnancy, childbirth and breast-feeding. You can carry the HIV virus and not have symptoms initially. That’s why testing is so important.
