Iphone And Hearing Aids
Apple has pretty much dominated the smartphone industry and market since launching the iPhone and it is no wonder so many companies and industries want to be associated with the brand. One of the biggest industries is hearing aids.
You might be looking to upgrade your existing hearing aids or want to know a little bit more about this type of Bluetooth hearing aid – either way, we hope that this page gives you the information you need to make the right choice for you.
Why Should You Try Iphone Or Ipad Compatible Hearing Aids
There are plenty of great things about combining your Apple communications devices with high-quality hearing aids. Between them, the two pieces of technology can result in better hearing and a higher quality of life. With your iPhone or iPad acting as a microphone, you will be able to set up environments that are much better suited to easy conversation, or hear things like presentations more easily.
Itâs also worth noting that thereâs a difference between Apple phones and Android phones when weâre talking about hearing. While you can stream audio from Android phones to hearing aids, you will usually need a Bluetooth device to act as an intermediary. With iPhones, you just stream directly from one device to another â a much more convenient solution. Not everyone will need to fuse phones and hearing aids.
However, itâs an option that hearing-impaired people can use, and should consider if they are Apple users. Get in touch, and we will help you find the right hearing aid to make the most of your iPad or iPhone.
Remote Care For Hearing Aids You Buy Online
If you buy your hearing aids online from a web-based provider rather than from an audiologist, you may also receive teleaudiology services. Most online providers sell pre-programmed hearing aids, sometimes with several settings offering varying degrees of amplification. Others offer self-fitting models that you set up yourself using a smartphone app. Online hearing aids are often less costly than the premium models fitted by audiologists, but lacking the in-office hearing test, initial face-to-face consultation, and REM testing, its more of a crap shoot.

How We Chose The Best Invisible Hearing Aids
When choosing the best iPhone hearing aids, we looked for multiple criteria.
- Environment settings: We looked into hearing aids with enhanced sound quality for optimal hearing in different settings, such as restaurants, crowds, and in front of the television. These settings can be adjusted through your iPhone.
- Clear audio streaming: We researched hearing aids that offer high-quality audio streaming. The hearing aids on this list offer Bluetooth streaming so you can easily answer calls, stream TV, or listen to music directly from your hearing aids.
- Battery life: We focused on hearing aids that are rechargeable, have a comfortable fit, and have an extended battery life without the need for disposable batteries.

How To Access Remote Care
In 2020, remote care is almost always provided through your hearing aids smartphone app. The first step is downloading the app that works with your hearing aids and granting your audiologist permission to provide you with remote assistance. Dont worry, its easier than it sounds, and your audiologist will walk you through everything in their office before sending you on your way. And once the app is set up, you can use it to communicate with your provider, share information about your hearing aid usage, and receive real-time adjustments to your hearing aid settings.
If you want the benefits of remote care, be sure to ask your provider about it. Does their practice offer it? Which hearing aid models are available with teleaudiology? Will you need a particular brand of phone to access remote care ?
Resound And Beltone Remote Care
As people began sheltering at home due to COVID-19, ReSound and Beltone both released improvements to their respective remote care platforms. Both brands already offered solutions that let people request and receive adjustments to their hearing aids remotely, but the recent update means its now possible to have video calls with your provider, and both brands now support real-time hearing aid adjustments.
With ReSound Live Assist and Beltone Remote Care Live, you are able to have a video call with your provider and receive real-time hearing aid updates from home.
GNs platform also allows audiologists to monitor their patients hearing aid usage and performance in different listening environments. This type of data helps inform counseling and future hearing aid adjustments, which ultimately leads to greater patient satisfaction.
The apps from ReSound and Beltone let you request a video call from your audiologist. During a video call, your provider can adjust your audio and program settings in real time, just like they might if you were sitting in their office. You can evaluate any new settings during the video call and have your provider make further adjustments until youre happy with the changes. Afterwards, youll have a chance to try out any new settings and provide feedback through the app. Feedback you provide will help inform your audiologist on the success of the remote appointment.

How To Adjust Hearing Aid Volume By Using A Toggle Switch
The toggle switch is like a light switch that you can push it in either direction. After it is pushed, the switch will automatically return to its centered position. When you push it up or toward the top of the hearing aid it increases the volume. When you press it down it decreases the volume. For multiple steps louder or softer, you need to press the button multiple times. DO NOT PRESS AND HOLD. A press should be a quick 1 second push. If the push is over 3 seconds, the hearing aid will not interpret that you wanted the volume louder.
How To Pair Your Hearing Aids With Your Iphone
As more hearing aids are developed with direct-to-iPhone or iPad Bluetooth connectivity, more hearing aid users are realizing the wonderful benefits of hearing aids that also serve as wireless headsets for music and audio-book streaming, as well as Bluetooth headsets for phone conversations. Amy and Liz are two patients seen in our Houston office this week. Both could finally carry on a phone conversation with no difficulty for the first time in years, via Bluetooth-enabled hearing aids. It was amazing to see the joy on both their faces as a new world opened up to them.
In addition, the iPhone can serve as the remote control for the hearing aid, and users can adjust various features from overall volume to frequency response to background noise suppression, all through handy apps on the iPhone.
This is all wonderful when everything works! Occasionally, the iPhone will drop the hearing aid connection, or something gets “hung” or “stuck” in the iPhone that prevents a good connection. Should that happen to you, follow the instructions below that walk you through re-pairing the hearing aids to your iPhone.
